Claddagh Suncatcher

Email
This CELTIC Claddagh SUN CATCHER was made by Pairpoint Glass, America's oldest glass company. From the earliest of creation stories to contemporary folk tales, the dragon is portrayed as master of sea and sky. With the advent of a written literature, the importance of the dragon in Celtic culture became very obvious. In Wales, over time, the dragon became more than just a fiery monster as it evolved into a military and national emblem standing for the spirit of independence embodied in the Welsh people. The glass for this sun catcher was individually hand pressed from molds that are engraved freehand with hammer and chisel. Individual variations such as bubbles and shear marks may occur caused by the process of hand gathering the glass. Approximately 4.25" in diameter. Shown in amethyst glass. Ready to hang. Packaged in a Pairpoint Glass box.
